Bio:
Sagun Basnet is a first year Masters of Arts candidate in American Studies. She is from Nepal and is on a Fulbright Scholarship. She earned an MPhil in Nepal and has experiences of working for conflict transformation and peacebuilding. Her research interests include subject positions, creative economies and human rights. She carries research experiences on various areas related to gender and peacebuilding. Currently, she is researching on the impact of Microcredit in gender relations, especially in Nepal and Bangladesh. She is also researching for a common ground in the literatures of East and the West when it comes to human rights abuses like slavery.
